Update: Derby has been adopted!

Linda Elward and I hung out with Derby this morning. Derby is a beautiful brindle coated 2 year old, 58 pound mixed breed dog who is up for adoption at TAPS in Pekin, IL.

Derby was found as a stray in TX. The nice individual who found Derby and kept him overnight until animal control opened said that “Derby was the sweetest dog he has ever seen”. He also said that “Derby was good with his other 2 dogs and did not have any accidents in his home”.

We definitely agree with him as we found Derby to be super sweet and well behaved at Linda’s house. It is obvious that Derby was well taken care of and had training. Derby did not counter surf at all and had no accidents in the house. He loves playing fetch with the tennis balls, playing with stuffed toys, and getting belly rubs and butt scratches!

Derby seems a little sad at the shelter and enjoyed his time at Linda’s house. He is looking for his fur-ever family who will give him an infinite amount of belly rubs and butt scratches! Please consider adopting this super sweet boy by applying at https://www.tapsshelter.org/adoption-form .
