TAPS is a non-profit organization that is funded by donations and adoptions. All donations are tax deductible and help support the operational expenses of TAPS.
There are other ways you might help TAPS besides adopting a pet or volunteering to help at the shelter. Consider sending a regular donation to TAPS or remembering TAPS in your will. You'll know you're helping not only the shelter animals, but also the families whose lives are enriched by the addition of a TAPS pet.

Look for the Gimme Shelter doghouse banks at area businesses. The money collected goes toward food, shelter and other operating costs associated with providing for the animals on a day-to-day basis.
Can Recycling Program
Cans can be brought to the home of Rich and Cherie Lee at 206 Hemlock in Pekin and can be left on the north side of the house. Click here to read a recent newspaper article about the Lees.
You can call 346-0933 for more information.
Cash for Trash
Please save your empty inkjet and laser printer cartridges and old cell phones and bring them to TAPS. Cartridges can be placed in a plastic bag to minimize the mess. We are participating in a recycling program and will receive cash for each one we send in. The company even pays for the shipping. This great venture gives a double benefit - we earn money to support the operations at the shelter, and we help the environment in which we all live.
